Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement
The Moroccan Journal of Algebra and Geometry with Applications (MJAGA) is dedicated to upholding high ethical standards in publication and ensuring the quality of its papers. A key responsibility of the editorial board is to prevent publication malpractice. Any form of unethical behavior, including plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. By submitting their work to MJAGA, authors affirm the originality of their manuscript’s contents. All parties involved—editors, authors, and reviewers—are expected to comply with MJAGA’s submission guidelines, with their respective responsibilities clearly defined. The Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement of MJAGA is primarily based on the Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (2011).
Corrections and Retractions
In cases where misconduct or fraud is suspected, MJAGA and/or the Publisher will conduct an investigation following COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. Upon confirmation of valid concerns, authors will be contacted via their provided email address to respond to the issues. Depending on the findings, MJAGA and/or the Publisher may take the following actions:
- If the manuscript is still under consideration, it may be rejected and returned to the author.
- For articles already published online, measures may include:
- Issuing an erratum/correction.
- Placing an editor’s note or an editorial expression of concern with the article.
Editors
Fair Review: Editors are required to assess manuscripts based solely on academic merit. They must not use unpublished information in their own research without explicit written consent from the authors. Each manuscript received by MJAGA undergoes an initial evaluation for originality using appropriate software. Following desk review, manuscripts are forwarded for blind peer review to the editorial board, who will recommend acceptance, rejection, or revision.
Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts, sharing information only with the corresponding authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, and other necessary parties.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research without explicit written consent from the authors. Plagiarism and fraudulent statements in any form are considered unethical and unacceptable.
Authors
Reporting Standards: Authors are expected to present accurate accounts of their original research and discuss its significance objectively, adhering to MJAGA’s submission guidelines.
Originality: Authors must ensure their work is entirely original and cite sources appropriately.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. Redundant or overlapping publications are discouraged.
Acknowledgement of Sources: Authors must acknowledge all sources of data used in their research and cite influential publications.
Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All co-authors must have reviewed and approved the manuscript for submission.
Data Access and Retention: Authors should provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and retain such data.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works: Authors must promptly notify the editor if significant errors or inaccuracies are discovered in their submitted manuscript.
Reviewers
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts and related information confidentially. They should conduct reviews objectively and provide clear, constructive feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts.
Standards of Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively, focusing on the scientific content of the manuscript. Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate.
Promptness: Reviewers should inform the editor promptly if they cannot complete a manuscript review within the specified timeframe, allowing alternative arrangements to be made.
