Recall that a prime ideal <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">P<\/span> of <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">R<\/span> is called divided prime if <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">P \\subset (x)<\/span> for every <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">x \\in R\\setminus P<\/span>; thus a divided prime ideal is comparable to every ideal of <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">R<\/span>. In many articles, the authors investigated the class of rings <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">\\mathcal{H} = \\{R\\ |\\ R \\text{ is a commutative ring and } Nil(R) \\text{ is a\ndivided prime ideal of } R\\}<\/span> (observe that if <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">R<\/span> is an integral domain, then <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">R \\in \\mathcal{H}<\/span>). If <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">R \\in \\mathcal{H}<\/span>, then <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">R<\/span> is called a <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">\\phi<\/span>-ring. In this paper, we survey known results concerning <span class=\"katex-eq\" data-katex-display=\"false\">\\phi<\/span>-rings from a module-theoretic point of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
